Disaster Risk Management NPC (t/a DMS NPC) has been appointed by Anglo American Mogalakwena Complex to review and update the Community Emergency and Preparedness Plan.

DMS NPC reviewed and updated the Community Emergency and Preparedness Plan of Anglo American Mogalakwena Complex over eight phases, considering the potential impact of each five priority site-induced emergencies on 23 communities located in area one of the Mine’s Area of Influence (AoI) and consisted of the following components:

  • Initiation planning and kick-off;
  • Current reality assessment;
  • Training Community EPRP Committee members;
  • Community-based disaster risk assessment;
  • Review and update Community EPRP;
  • Establish community monitoring capabilities;
  • Community education and awareness; and
  • Live community evacuation drill.
