Dynamic Community Based Needs & Risk Profile
For any planning process to be successful, one must first understand local needs and the risks that communities are exposed too. The outcome of this is a dynamic community based needs and risk profile. Through participatory mapping and consultative workshops with communities and other relevant stakeholders, DMS facilitates the gathering, analysis and evaluation of information for the various components of risk (hazards, conditions of vulnerability and capacity), to determine priority risks, significant to the communities in which they exist. This information is used to develop and continuously update a dynamic community based needs and risk profile, which informs ongoing development and disaster risk planning processes.
