For any planning process to be successful, one must first understand local needs and disaster risks. The outcome of this is a dynamic community based disaster risk profile. DMS NPC facilitates the collection, analysis and evaluation of information relating to disaster risk (hazards, conditions of vulnerability and capacity) through participatory mapping and consultative workshops with communities and other relevant stakeholders.

The outcome of the dynamic disaster risk profile will be used to continuously inform ongoing development and disaster risk planning processes.
